Message from the Principal
Welcome to the 2026–2027 school year! We are thrilled to welcome both returning and new students, families, and educators to our community. As we step into this year with joy and optimism, we hope you enjoy these final days of summer. We can't wait to see everyone back in our halls!
Please review the important details below to help ensure a smooth start to the year.
ST ISABEL CATHOLIC SCHOOL 2026 – 2027 SUGGESTED SCHOOL SUPPLIES
Arrival & Dismissal
We are happy to welcome students (and parents) upon arrival into the school yard between 8:45 a.m. and 9:00 a.m. on Tuesday, September 1st. (Please note that parents are not permitted on the yard on any day with the exception of the first day of school.) All homeroom teachers will be standing by a pylon with their name and grade. There will be staff members available outside to guide students to their homeroom teachers. At 9:00 a.m. the bell will ring and students will follow their homeroom teacher into the school to their classroom. Parents are asked not to enter the school but to leave the school yard promptly at the bell. Thank you for your cooperation.
End of the day pick up will follow a regular dismissal format starting at 3:20 p.m. Teachers will accompany their students to the gate. If you are picking up your child from school, all parents will be required to park their vehicle on Goulbourn Forced Rd by following the same plan as outlined above for morning drop-off.
Parents will have to get out of their vehicle to meet their child on the median (sidewalk) directly in front of the school between the bus lane and Goulbourn Forced Rd. Students will not be permitted to cross the street or leave the sidewalk area unattended.
Traffic
The parking lot will be closed to ALL traffic (with the exception of Special Transportation)
Parents of students in Kindergarten will park their car on Goulbourn Forced Rd. Only our Kindergarten students will enter the yard by using the North gate (the gate closest to the parking lot).
Parents of students in Grades 1-6 will park their car on Goulbourn Forced Rd and will be required to walk their child to the South gate.
Be aware of cars/construction vehicles moving in either direction as you are crossing the street with your child.
Please note the, ‘No Parking’ Areas in the photo below - it is important that we keep these areas clear for buses and overall traffic flow.
Staggered Entry
Tuesday, September 1, 2026
Year 1 (JK) - No school.
Year 2 (SK) - Students at school for their 15-minute appointment time only.
Wednesday, September 2, 2026
Year 1 (JK) - Orientation visits begin for Junior Kindergarten (by appointment). The first full day of school for these students is Thursday, September 3rd, 2026.
Year 2 (SK) - All students in class.
Thursday, September 3, 2026
Year 1 (JK) - Orientation appointments continue. These students come to school with their parents for their scheduled 15-minute visit. The first day of school for these students is Friday, September 4th, 2026.
Year 2 (SK) - All students in class.
Friday, September 4, 2026
Year 1 and 2 - All students in class.

Please sign up for School Messenger to receive important updates. If you do not, you will no longer receive school updates. LINK
NOTE! Please select "teacher to parent messaging" in School Messenger in order to receive emails from teachers. This step must be completed for each child.

If you would like to volunteer in our school or participate in field trips, please complete the necessary Vulnerable Sector Check paperwork. LINK

Class Lists
Our enrollment continues to increase, which causes changes to class lists. There is always the possibility that class organization can change as we adhere to cap sizes and enrollment pressures in various grades. As students and parents find out who their teachers are and the classes that friends are in, there is sometimes excitement and other times disappointment. We thank you in advance for supporting your child with their return to school by staying positive knowing that their teachers and all St. Isabel staff members are prepared and ready to welcome them back. Thank you for your support and understanding in helping your child(ren) see any class placement as a positive one. *Please note that we will not be making changes to student classroom placements unless there is an error in the program pathway (i.e French extended vs Immersion). Your attention to this is appreciated.
OSTA
Please review your child’s info on the OSTA Parent Portal before the first day of school. It is important to know your child’s bus numbers. In most cases, the morning bus route number is different from the afternoon route number. We encourage parents and guardians to sign up for OSTA email notifications or follow them on Twitter and Facebook to receive the latest information.
MORNING BUS ROUTE NUMBERS MAY BE DIFFERENT THAN THE AFTERNOON ROUTES.
Please make sure that you check OSTA’s website to confirm your child's bus route number. It is important that you also sign up to receive emails from OSTA for busing updates. You can register and see your bus information at the link below.
Communication of Life-Threatening Illnesses **IMPORTANT**
As we continue to prepare for the 2026-2027 school year, we require the collection of medical documentation from some of our families. If your child has a serious medical condition (asthma, life-threatening allergy, diabetes, epilepsy/seizures, concussion/head injury) you need to inform the school using the Life-Threatening Medical Condition Verification Form. You will also need to submit the appropriate condition-specific Plan of Care form.
If you have not already done so, please submit the completed forms to isabel@ocsb.ca (If you require a paper copy, please contact the school and we would be happy to provide it for you.) If you have already submitted this important information, thank you!
Please be advised that St. Isabel is a peanut and tree nut safe school. Your child’s classroom teacher will let you know if there are any other life-threateningallergies within the individual classes.

Even if you do not wish to pay online, please register. This is how you will receive notification about items/events available to purchase.

Step 3: After you receive the confirmation email, please select the ‘click here’ option, sign in and add each of your children to your household account.

Dismissal
As our St. Isabel school community continues to grow, we are always working to ensure a safe, calm, and nurturing environment for all of our students.
To help protect your children's learning experience and minimize disruptions during the final wrap-up of the instructional day, we do not facilitate student pick-ups during the last 20 minutes of the school day.
The end of the day is a critical time for our classrooms as teachers deliver final instructions and students pack up their belongings alongside their peers. Interruptions during this window create unnecessary stress for students and staff alike.
If your child has an appointment and needs to leave early, please arrive at the main office prior to this final 20-minute window. We truly appreciate your understanding, cooperation, and ongoing partnership in keeping our dismissals safe, smooth, and organized for every child.
