St. Isabel School Community Update
What a wonderful first 2 weeks of school! It has been an absolute joy seeing our hallways and classrooms filled once again with smiling faces, bubbling energy, and eager learners.
Starting a new school year takes teamwork and I would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to our students, families, and staff for making this transition so smooth. Our educators have done an outstanding job helping students settle into their daily routines, build connections, and feel welcomed.
This year, we draw inspiration from our OCSB Spiritual Theme: "We are called to open doors, build bridges, and nourish new beginnings." In this chapter of our journey, we focus on nourishing new beginnings by nurturing the unique gifts God has placed within each student, celebrating their everyday milestones, and cultivating strong, restorative connections across our entire school community.
Education is a true partnership and open communication between home and school is essential to your child's success. We encourage you to stay connected through our regular updates, join us for school events, and consider participating in our Catholic School Council.
Arrival & Dismissal
As we all settle into the rhythm of the school year, we appreciate your help in keeping our days running smoothly and safely for all students. Arriving on time each morning helps students start the day calmly, connect with their friends, and be ready for learning. From Kindergarten to Grade 6, being on time and attending regularly has a large impact on student success and well-being. If your family needs additional support with morning routines or attendance, please don’t hesitate to reach out to your child’s teacher or Mrs. Smith—we’re here to help.
Talking with Your Young Learner About School
Please take a moment to review a few helpful notes:
Daily Attendance & Punctuality: Please ensure your child arrives on time so they can start their day ready to learn alongside their peers.
Drop-off & Pick-up Safety: Thank you for your continued patience and care in our drop-off zones as everyone gets used to the traffic flow. As a reminder, please step out of your vehicle to meet your child at dismissal. If you need to pick up your child early, please call the main office directly to connect with an Office Administrator rather than emailing classroom staff, as educators are focused on instruction and cannot check messages throughout the day. Please note that all early pick-ups must occur before 3:10 PM. Thank you for your cooperation in keeping our routines smooth and safe!
Kinder Parents: If you are dropping off your child late (via the kindergarten gate outside) please also stop by the office to sign them in.

St. Isabel is looking for parents and guardians to join our School Council! Council plays a vital role in supporting student success, planning events, and sharing parent perspectives.
If you're interested in making a difference in our school community, please complete our School Council Nomination Form by 5:00 PM on September 24th. We would love to have you on board!

The Ottawa Catholic School Board (OCSB) is pleased to invite nominations for representatives to serve on our Special Education Advisory Committee (SEAC) for the upcoming term. The deadline is September 30th. SEAC plays a vital role in ensuring that the voices of parents, associations, and community members who advocate for students with exceptionalities are reflected in the Board's special education programs and services.
